The Body Functions

The Two Primary Functions

Cleansing &
Nutritive Function

The action of each organ aids in the development, growth, and maintenance of the health of the body. These actions can be divided into two classes: (1) nutritive actions and (2) cleansing actions.

“To keep the body in a healthy condition, in order that all parts of the living machinery may act harmoniously, should be a study of our life. The children of God cannot glorify Him with sickly bodies or dwarfed minds.” “Health is a treasure. Of all temporal possessions it is the most precious.” -

Ellen G. White

The Cleansing Function: Detox Chronology

Health & Toxicity

When we get an unhealthy buildup of toxins in our body, it’s not pretty. These excess toxins will cause physical and mental health issues like chronic fatigue, headaches, insomnia and diseases. Many of these toxins come from things you use or consume everyday like food, water, beauty and personal care products and the environment. If you’re wondering why it’s so important to cleanse and detox your body, take a look below.

You’ll see that there are many harsh pollutants and harmful pesticides in our environment that should not stay in your body. Since our body organs work together to help eliminate these trapped toxins, it’s important that they’re all healthy and in working order. The liver, kidneys, colon, lungs, skin and lymphatic system are especially useful and important when it comes to cleansing the body.

The 21-Day Detox Methodology

What is cleansing/detoxing?

This information serves as a means to reiterate our approach or methodology when it comes to detoxing. I hope you understand and can appreciate the point of view shared.

There is one major cause of disease, and this is acidosis (low pH). The major cause for acidosis is putrefaction of fecal waste reabsorbed into your system, this causes toxemia which means dirty blood.  A poor diet, poor digestion, sluggish colon, reduced function in the liver, and dismal elimination from the kidneys all lead to increased toxicity and lack of oxygen at the cellular level.

Considering that cleansing is the most important yet most overlooked part of any effective healing protocol, we at Back2EdenLifestyle (B2EL) seek to assist in this (cleansing/detox) process.

Detoxification is the process of clearing toxins from the body, neutralizing or transforming them, and clearing excess mucus and congestion.

The process of detoxification like any other process has an intelligent order, or as some may call it a highly recommended sequence to follow:

Our ultimate goal after this process is to REMOVE, REPLACE, REINOCULATE, AND REPAIR.

Considering that three (3) is the number of completeness we assemble for you a personal detox plan, allowing you to spend 3 days on each of the above-mentioned systems. By means of herbs and proper application of the 8 health laws you would be able to successfully cleanse your system, taking the strain off your immune system.

To be able to partake in the 21 days detox journey, you are required to complete one of B2EL’s lifestyle assessment forms. Your answer to each question is very important for us to be able to personalize your plan. As a bonus we offer you a week’s diet plan, for you to have an idea of what easily digestible foods you should eat to assist your elimination organs in this process. Knowing that this process can be physically and mentally challenging, we will assign you one of our B2EL coaches. They will be available to answer questions, give advice, and encourage you during the 21 days.

Your contribution would be a donation of minimum $50, – per plan towards the ministry, which will be used in our gardening project. We would like to plant most of these beneficial herbs and fruit trees ourselves, making it possible to offer this plan to as many as possible.

Remember: The use of natural remedies requires an amount of care and effort that many are not willing to give. Nature’s process of healing and upbuilding is gradual, and to the impatient it seems slow. The surrender of hurtful indulgences requires sacrifice. But in the end, it will be found that nature, untrammeled, does her work wisely and well. Those who persevere in obedience to her laws will reap the rewards in health of body and mind.

Attached you will find the health assessment form which is to be completed and returned to us as soon as possible after which we will need about 3 days to finalize your personalized detox plan. We will also share a link with you via WhatsApp of the form which you can choose to use instead of the one attached.

Thank you for trusting us and we look forward to hearing and working with you!

The Detoxing Sequence

Colon Cleanse

" A good reliable set of bowels is worth more than any quantity of brain " - Henry Wheeler Shaw. The first step in everyone's health program should be stimulating, cleaning and toning all the elimination organs, and the bowel is the best place to begin. The goal should be colon regeneration and maintenance.

Parasite Cleanse

Some studies estimate approximately 3.5 billion people have at least one kind of parasite. That’s nearly half the world population! Yet, due to their microscopic size, their elusive nature, and the fact that they are a rather unpleasing and taboo subject, most people are completely unaware of just how prevalent parasites are, and just how common it is to have a parasitic infection.

Kidney Cleanse

Every day, your kidneys process the blood and help to sift out waste products (like mercury, lead, arsenic, copper, and other toxins) and water. The waste and extra water become urine.
When your kidneys become overloaded with toxins, disease of the kidneys and bladder can happen as you are unable to discharge the waste and urine from your body. A kidney cleanse is use to dissolve deposits inside the kidneys that can lead to kidney stones.

Liver & Gallbladder Cleanse

Dr. Leo Roy stated, "No disease, especially degenerative diseases could survive longer than a few weeks in the presence of a healthy liver". Your liver drives many of your body’s critical systems and when it breaks down, your body will too. Your gallbladder, a pear-shaped pouch about three inches long, is part of your digestive system. It's main function is to store bile. Bile helps your digestive system break down fats.

Lung Cleanse

The air we breathe can be contaminated with many kinds of pollutants. Our lungs are mostly self-cleaning organs, but there are certain things you can do to help them function at an optimal level. A lung cleanse may be helpful for individuals who have a health condition that causes breathing difficulties, such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or cystic fibrosis. Smokers who have quit this habbit can also benefit from a lung detox.

Lymphatic Cleanse

The lymphatic system primarily consists of lymphatic vessels, which are similar to the veins and capillaries of the circulatory system. The vessels are connected to lymph nodes, where the lymph is filtered. The tonsils, adenoids, spleen and thymus are all part of the lymphatic system The lymphatic system is the metabolic garbage can of the body. It rids you of toxins such as dead and cancerous cells, nitrogenous wastes, infectious viruses, heavy metals, and other assorted junk cast off by the cells. The movement performed in rebounding provides the stimulus for a free-flowing system that drains away these potential poisons.

Blood Cleanse

The blood stream is our "River of life". One of the first things we can do to improve the circulatory system is to clean out the channels through which the blood flows. Due to faulty digestion and the use of hard water, the walls of arteries, veins, and capillaries become coated with inorganic waste materials. The waste forms a lining that does not allow the cell structure of the veins and arteries to be fed properly, so these originally soft pliable tissues become hard and loose their elasticity. This causes oxygen distribution to the cells to be curtailed, disease is always associated with a lack of oxygen at the cellular level.

The pathway to health from a biblical perspective.

The Original Diet

What is the best diet for optimum health?

In Genesis Chapter 1:29  we read the following;

29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

So God, who is our Creator, who made our body so wonderfully knew what diet is best for us. He appointed us our food that when used in a palatable manner would give our bodies the nutrition that is necessary for the proper functioning of this human machinery called our “body”.

As we partake of our original diet (plant-based food) our bodies will get (first hand) the necessary vitamins and minerals in the right balance for efficient absorption and utilization by the body which in-turn preserves and or improves health in collaboration with the keeping of the 8 laws of health.

When a large variety of whole plant based foods are sufficiently combined and included in the diet the nutrients needed for optimum health are usually supplied. However, to avoid deficiency, vitamins, mineral supplements are readily available. Below we will touch on the most important vitamins and minerals the body needs to adequately fulfill its nutritive role.

The following information relating to the most important vitamins and minerals, pertaining to our “Daily Food
Needs” is taken from the book: The Ten Talents, by Rosalie Hurd, B.S., & Frank J. Hurd, D.C., M.D.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A is found in nature, as the orange-yellow pigment carotene, which is changed into vitamin A in the body. Essential for normal growth and development, tooth development, proper functioning of the body, healthy skin and mucous membranes. Prevents development of nutritional night blindness. Maintain normal infections resistance, and normal pregnancy and lactation.

Vitamin B1 (Thiamin)

One fraction of B complex, widely distributed in nature predominantly in the germ of cereals and in the outer layers of whole grains. Destroyed by long exposure to heat and oxidation. Essential for normal growth, proper utilization of sugars and starches, normal functioning of nervous system, maintenance of appetite, normal tone and functioning of the digestive tract.

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)

Found in a wide variety of plants. It's a heat stable, light unstable, water soluble vitamin. Needed in the body for utilization of food energy. Involved specifically in process of oxidation within the cells of the body. Needed for healthy skin and eyes.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)

Found in natural foods in small amounts. Not destroyed by heat, light, or air. Water soluble. Maintains and strengthens gastro-intestinal tract, circulation, nervous system, skin. Needed for protein and carbohydrates metabolism. Increases blood flow to skin, and extremities. Helps the body produce many hormones.

Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid)

Found in many different foods, making deficiency rare. Stimulates metabolism and all life processes, promotes growth. Helps absorption of folic acid. Increases cortisone and other adrenal hormone output...

Calcium

Calcium contributes to formation of strong bones and teeth. Helps to clot blood, regulate heart-beat, maintain mineral balance in all body tissues. Calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin D help prevent softening of bones as occurs in rickets. Vitamin D must be present for proper calcium utilization

Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin)*

Found in vegetables only in small amounts. It can also be taken as a supplement. In addition, fortified breakfast cereals and fortified nutritional yeasts are readily available sources of vitamin B12 that have high bioavailability Is an important water-soluble vitamin involved in red blood cell production, brain health, and DNA synthesis

Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid)

Widely distributed in natural staple foods, especially among fruits, particularly citrus fruits. Water soluble. Involved in many body functions, including formation of collagen, absorption of iron, the proper functioning of the immune system, wound healing, and the maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth

Vitamin D3

Natural food sources of vitamin D is meager. Fat soluble. Sunlight on the skin will provide all the vitamin D you need. The best time between 10 A.M. and 2 P.M.

Vitamin K

This is the anti- hemorrhage vitamin. It has essential blood-clotting factors (VII, IX, and X), and it is used in production of prothrombin. It is also needed for normal liver and nerve function. Necessary for building healthy bones and helps prevent osteoporosis.

Vitamin B3 (Niacin)

Found in natural foods in small amounts. Not destroyed by heat, light, or air. Water soluble. Maintains and strengthens gastro-intestinal tract, circulation, nervous system, skin. Needed for protein and carbohydrates metabolism. Increases blood flow to skin, and extremities. Helps the body produce many hormones.

Iodine

Iodine is a mineral found in some foods. The body needs iodine to make thyroid hormones. These hormones control the body’s metabolism and many other important functions. The body also needs thyroid hormones for proper bone and brain development during pregnancy and infancy.

Iron

Iron is needed in the body for hemoglobin formation in the blood, and myoglobin in muscle tissue. Is vital to transporting oxygen to every body cell, the production of many enzymes, energy production, and immune protection.

Vitamin E

Be sure you are getting natural vitamin E, not synthetics. Synthetics are worthless; do not purchase or use them. Read your label; natural vitamin E is written "tocopherols" or "d-tocopherol". Natural alpha-tocopherol (the most active form of Vitamin E) is "alpha-tocopherol" (or "d-alpha tocopherol"). The synthetic is "tocopheryl" [with a "y"] or "DL-alpha-tocopherol" [with "dl"].
